DADS DOING IT AMBASSADOR

I grew up in Fitchburg, MA, raised by a single mother. My mom had me at 16 years old so I guess you can say we practically grew up together. I watched my mom work so hard to keep the lights on and food on the table for myself and my siblings. My mom's work ethic showed me that no matter where you come from or what hardships you are dealing with, with a strong work ethic you can figure it out and create a better situation for yourself and that’s exactly what she did. I met my dad for the first time at 18 years old. That was the journey that sparked a growing relationship between me and my dad that is now bonded forever.

For the past 10 years my relationship with my dad has become a very strong and loving relationship. A relationship I never knew was so important to have. Although my visits with my dad consist of emptying all my pockets, going through a medical detector, and waiting for the correctional office to get him from his cell, I’ve learned to love him and be proud to have him as a dad. Not having a dad growing up motivated me to become the best dad I can be. In 2014 the biggest blessing entered my life, my son, Noah. Now I was in the position to be the dad to Noah that I never had. It’s one thing to be a father but it’s another to be a DAD. I’m proud to say I have an unbreakable relationship with my son who I love with all my heart and who I will continue to nurture, love, and invest in so he can reach his highest potential in life. I consider myself a proud DAD who stands up for all other dads who take pride in being a DAD and for the ones who continue to fight for their right to be a DAD. #DadsMatter
