“Dr. Phillips's bright energy and natural ability to connect with us, touched every student in our classroom from the very first day. He combined laughter and fun with guidance and lessons that extended well beyond the classroom. We had open disscussions and debated in diverse groups regularly, giving every person in the room the opportunity to be heard. Dr. Phillips always made sure to engage with every student in their own personalzed way. With every class, we were genuinely happy to be there, ready for the great lesson we knew was ahead of us. The positive energy in the room was a direct reflection of how much we all appreciated having Dr. Phillips as a professor, and a friend. He is a true one-of-one. There has never been a professor in my college career that I appreciated and respected more; nor any that impacted me as much as he did.
